Amber Quigley

Fine Art

My name is Amber Quigley and I am a visual artist exploring memory through colour, shape, and layered fabric. Using cut-outs as symbols of loss, I create voids that represent the missing or fading memories we once had. Allowing the viewer to look through, encouraging them to reflect and form their own interpretations.

I expand beyond traditional stretched canvases, allowing my work to be installed freely – hung from ceilings or walls. I experiment with layering fabric, which supports the development of new ideas and techniques. Layering becomes a tool to reflect the many memories we hold as individuals.

My process is intuitive, led by colour and organic form. Each layer builds a sense of depth, echoing the way memories shift and change over time. By revealing what’s missing, I aim to evoke both personal and shared experiences of memory and absence.
