The body becomes an object, manipulated repulsively before you, integrating itself into its environment. Through multiple mediums, grotesque visuals identify bodily structures like fluids and body parts in an exploration of queerness, sex, sexuality, gender and their relationships with the modern world in conjunction with horror themes. I work mostly using recycled and found objects through DIY special effects techniques in a way that emphasizes details on large ambiguous structures. I then translate these 3-dimensional sculpture/installations to 2-dimensional imagery, playing with opposing elements – the physicality of ‘in world’ structures focused on texture and fluidity and the further dissection of the same objects through digital medium, editing and refining.
